What a relaxation massage is (and isn’t)
The difference from deep tissue, and who it suits.
A relaxation massage is a full-body treatment with long, flowing strokes and light-to-medium pressure. It is not the same as deep tissue — nobody is digging into a knot. The aim is to calm your nervous system down.
What people notice
- Less of the wired, on-edge feeling
- Better sleep for a few nights afterward
- Looser shoulders and neck if you sit at a desk
- Just feeling like a person again
Who it suits
Anyone running on stress, anyone who sleeps badly, and anyone new to massage who does not want strong pressure. Sixty minutes is the standard; add Reiki if you want the session to go a bit deeper into the rest side of things.
